Harold Maurice Hardnett is the third of four children born to Johnny and Helen Hardnett. Being a native Atlantan, Harold, as well as his siblings, attended Walter F. White Elementary School and Frederick Douglass High School, where they all had 12 years of perfect attendance. He participated in football, and was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America. He went on to graduate from Douglass High School in 1989.
Harold attended, and graduated from Morris Brown College with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. While in college, he started his own business, Hardnett Enterprises, Incorporated. Under the umbrella of his corporation are three entities that encompass vending machines, real estate investments and commercial cleaning. He has received awards in commercial cleaning for volume of business and customer service. Harold is also a Gold and Diamond Club of Excellence Member for commercial cleaning in Atlanta. Harold has been successful in business because taking care of the customer is his first priority. In addition, Hardnett Enterprises manages and leases its own rental properties to underprivileged families. Furthermore, his company hires military veterans. In addition to receiving awards in commercial cleaning, he has also been recognized in Who’s Who in Black Atlanta, 40 Under 40, The Atlanta Voice Newspaper and numerous Community
Service Awards.
Harold founded The Harold M. Hardnett Foundation, and Southwest Atlanta Senior Citizen Task Force and Co-Founded Atlanta Southwest and Taste of Southwest Atlanta. His Scholarship Foundation has a partnership with Greenbriar Mall, Atlanta, Ga.
Harold’s civic and volunteer responsibilities include American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Hands on Atlanta, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Hosea Feed the Hungry and Boy Scouts of America. Harold’s current memberships includes Atlanta Business League, Southwest Atlanta Youth Business Organization (SWAYBO) and United Way of Greater Atlanta.
Harold is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, 100 Black Men, Yes! Atlanta and Fulton County Juvenile Justice are three mentoring organizations that Mr. Hardnett is a member of. Organizations that mentor young African American males to become successful in life. Harold made up his mind that he would give back and lift up as many people as he can. It takes a
village to raise a child and he is very thankful for the village that raised him to the man he is today.

Southwest Atlanta Youth Business Organization (SWAYBO) Harold is married to the former Misty Yvonne. He has one child, Jaylon Maurice. Harold and his family are active members of the Cascade United Methodist Church, where he is an adult volunteer with Boy Scouts Troop 579, a member of the Men’s Usher Board and a member of United Methodist.
