Raymond Chen is the CEO and founder of the $141 million (sales) Cajun Seafood chain, The Juicy Crab. Over the short span of six years the company has grown from a single restaurant in Duluth, GA, to over 38 locations in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, and Texas. Our trajectory for the New Year is to open at least 15 more stores.
Restaurateur Raymond Chen was born in Fuzhou, China. He came to the U.S. carrying with him his relentless hard work ethic and a vision of owning his own business. To gain experience and knowledge of the restaurant industry, he worked his way up through various positions with a willingness to take on any job and be successful at every level.
In 2010, Raymond opened his first restaurant in Woodbridge, VA, a Hibachi Grill. The following year, he opened his second location in Decatur, GA. Within twelve months, he opened his third in Lawrenceville, GA.
By 2015, he added two new concepts to his portfolio, AYCE Hot Pot & Sushi in Duluth, GA, and Juicy Seafood in Savannah, Georgia. Inspired by his family, knowledge of his culture, and drawing on his extensive experience in the food industry, Raymond created signature secret seasonings and launched his first The Juicy Crab.
It is Raymond’s greatest priority to take care of his employees. He knows happy employees make happy customers. This is why he devotes his time and energy to supporting and encouraging his employees to achieve their goals so they may be successful in their work and in their private life. ‘Empowerment’ is one of the defining values of The Juicy Crab organization. It is the heartbeat of our identity. By our actions we want our employees to know they are valued and appreciated.
