M.J. Collier Jr., M.D., F.A.A.F.P. currently serves as President /CEO of Atlanta West Primary Care Associates. In the position of Medical Director he coordinates Primary Health Care services for Men, Women and Children .
Dr. Collier received his undergraduate education at Morehouse College (79’) in Atlanta and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. His residency training was at the Morehouse School of Medicine serving his final year as Chief Resident.
Dr. Collier became a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2002.
Dr. Collier currently serves as Board Chairman and Immediate past President of the Georgia State Medical Association (GSMA). He serves on the Board of Director’s for The Heritage Fund of Atlanta Medical Association and is the Chairman of the Community Services Committee of the Atlanta Medical Association. He has also served as Board Chairman and President of the Atlanta Medical Association, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, and the 100 Black Men of America South Metro Chapter.
Dr. Collier serves as the on-air personality/host of the “Your Health is Important” Radio talk show on WYZE 1480AM. Atlanta’s own “ Hip Hop Doc” can be heard on WVEE V-103.3Fm “ the Ryan Cameron Show and the syndicated “ The Ricky Smiley Show” heard locally on Hot 107.9 FM
In 1997, Dr. Collier was appointed as the Chief Ring Physician for Boxing in the State of Georgia and continues to serve ringside at all professional boxing events.
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Collier is married to Dolores Perez Collier and the father of five children, Carla, Millard III (C-III) , Victoria, Catherine and Miles.
