Percy D. Vaughn is a native of Atlanta, GA. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and MBA from Atlanta University.
Upon graduation, Vaughn began his automotive career with Ford Motor Company, serving in a variety of managerial roles with increasing responsibilities over his 10-year tenure. After leaving Ford in 1986, he joined Hyundai Motor Company in Atlanta and was promoted to General Manager of the Southern Region within 6 years. In 1995, he opened the Southern Region for Kia Motors America where he serves as Executive Director. During his 23 years at the helm, the Southern Region continues to be the #1 Region in the nation, accounting for more than 30% of total U.S. sales.
In 2012, Vaughn was appointed to the Board for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. He was named Vice Chairman in 2013 and assumed the role of Board Chairman in June 2015. As chairman, he oversaw the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors which managed the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge Charity Golf Tournament and the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award. In recognition of his contributions during his chairmanship, Vaughn will be inducted into the 2018 class of the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Hall of Fame. In addition to serving on the Chick-fil-A Bowl Board, he serves on the Board of Trustees for Chick-fil-A Corporation, Cobb Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Club and Cobb Energy Centre Board. Vaughn was named 2013 Father of Year by the American Diabetes Association and was awarded the Martin Luther King Unity Award in January 2018.
Percy and his wife Audree reside in Atlanta and have two adult children. Their son, Dr. Kory Vaughn is an Emergency Room physician. Kory and his wife Raquel are the proud parents of Zoe. Their daughter Kirsten and son-in-law Benjamin Watson are the proud parents of five and expecting twins in the Spring. Percy and Audree enjoy spending time spoiling their grandchildren.
