Gibson’s long list of accolades began well before he earned a diploma from Manning High School in South Carolina (1997). Between 1996 and 1997, Gibson used discipline to both complete National Guard Basic Training and serve as Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper (The Monarch).

(2001) He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Media from High Point University (HPU) in North Carolina. While at HPU Gibson continued to gain experience as a leader by being the President of their Black Cultural Awareness (BCA) organization for 3 consecutive years as well as being the radio station manager for 90.3 The Engima for 3 consecutive years. These leadership opportunities propelled and prepared Gibson for the real world.

Gibson continued his education by earning a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, (2005). Both universities acknowledged and honored his potential with multiple scholarships.
Not satisfied with the status quo, Gibson used his experience and education to develop two important contributions to American culture. In 2000, he launched Gipp. Entertainment followed by GIPP. Museums, Inc. The acronym stands for Getting Into People’s Perspectives, a philosophy that drives both the African American Cinema Gallery (AACG) and the Hispanic Cinema Gallery (HCM). Gibson created Gipp. as a way to pay homage to his grandfather who went by the affectionate nickname. With Gibson’s guidance, these museums have completed national tours of 27 states and 50 cities.

Communities are increasingly recognizing Gibson’s contribution and inviting his perspective. His recent speaking engagements include the High Point Boys & Girls Club, Ashland University, Miami Dade College and High Point University. In 2006, Gibson produced the first Sweet Auburn International Film Festival which took “Celebrating Cultures in Motion” as its apt subtitle. The film festival was attached to the world renowned Sweet Auburn Springfest which is more than 20 years old and is the largest festival in the South East. Gibson and his executive team rebranded the festival and created the Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF) which debuted under the new brand in 2009. Gibson also extended his talent internationally and was hired as a consultant for the Barbados Cinefest Film Festival in Barbados which took place in August, 2007.

Gibson’s qualifications as a cinema expert also extend to both sides of the camera. In front, he’s guest starred on American Centre Street. Gibson has also done various production work with MTV, VH1, producers from Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and A Mule and more. Gibson’s most recent production is entitled “Prodigal” which he was employed as the Supervising Producer starred acclaimed actor Clifton Powell and Hip Hop legend Scarface. Today Gibson is part owner of film and television production powerhouse goo an online film and media platform Jaro. With more than 8 films under his belt Gibson plans to expand his production portfolio for decades to come.
